Something I want to Discuss (update)

EDIT: I knew I forgot a REEEEAAAALLLLYY important one: Personal Hygiene-this goes for everyone. Brush your teeth and bathe EVERYDAY. I can't tell how any people at EQLA just wreaked of body odor! Be sure to also wash your costume after every time you where it. if you can't do that on the go, then carry a spray bottle of febreeze with you to use at the end of each day.

Convention Etiquette:

Some may be wondering why but there are certain things I've seen personally that some people are just clueless about.

1. Respect someones personal space.

Yes its known that at a convention, your personal space is going to be invaded. prolly more than most would like. If someone more or less says "step off", "back up a bit" etc, give them space.

2. Be polite to other con goers.

Don't cut in lines for vedors, autographs, etc. Don't be rude to to other for no reason especially to those you came out to see. (VA's etc.)

3. Cosplay doesn't equal Consent (This is a big one)

what does that mean? don't pull someone aside just for a photo. ANd it DOES NOT mean it gives you the okay to "look someone over". Its expected that some people may be dressed up in a skimpy outfit and whatnot. Just because they are doesn't give you the right to stare, touch or anything like that.

-If you want a photo or something, politely ask. If they refuse, then go on your marry way. If they say yes, great! now the part everyone gets wrong---the only way in my book to politely "put your arm around someone" you don't know is the "chummy" over the shoulder placement. Anything above the belt is usually fine but I ask if I can even put my arm around someone at all. DO NOT think its ok to put your arm around someones waist, butt, etc unless they give you their explicit OK. Sometimes its best just to not put your arm around someone at all

4.Don't put your belongings down on someones vendor table

If you want to buy something and you have to put your stuff down (cosplay parts, bags, other merch, etc.) DO NOT put it down on someone's vendor display. It's disrespectful. Especially if you set your stuff down on the prints, shirts and whatnot that they worked very hard on. Put your stuff down on the floor.

5. DO NOT pester a VA, writer, artist etc.

I think this one is pretty self explanatory...I hope. They may be held high on a stage like gods to many but they are still human beings just like the rest of us. Don't expect high things of them.

Theres prolly a few more that I've forgotten but these are the basics everyone needs to know if you ever plan to go to a convention.

Ego sum a socialis aleam

I love to take pictures, draw, and make things. Some have said I'm a jack-of-all-trades. I hope I'm not Prepare to see a lot from me, journals everyday, awesome, beautiful, and amazing pictures, builds which include cosplay and props, and drawinghopefully lots of drawings in the coming future.

I'm also a musician. I've played the guitar for 10 years (though I lack all knowledge of music theory), I've played Bass for 3 years, and I've played the drums for 2 years. I don't really write my own stuff cuz whenever I try, nothing ever comes out. I mainly play for my church though.

What do I like to look at? a lot, if its funny, cute, awesome, cool, etc. I like it. It's usually pretty easy to make me laugh and impress me.

what do I not like to look at? Hate "art", anything thats racist, and R34. BUT that doesn't mean I hate any of it. I know it will exist where ever I am on the internet, I just try not to look at it. I've learned that if you hate something that's prevalent in this world, you're wasting your breath. simply leave it be and don't bother with it.

I work full time as a welder and if I could I would also do metal sculpture. but alas, I lack a welder of my own.

I am Christian and I like to think of myself as a "normal" Christian. So no worries. I'm not gonna go around telling everyone they're going to hell and what ever it is that te crazy ones do...

My favorite TV shows consist of: Digimon Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 5, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (yes im a brony. Deal with it ), a little Adventure Time, Avatar the Last Airbender, what ever was on Toonami when it was still going, anything that involves guns, Mythbusters, Pawn Stars...the list goes on

One thing I really like to do is make things. Particularly costumes from Halo. I currently have 2 wearable suits, one of the Master Chief armor and a suit from the recent Halo Reach. I am currently working on a Halo ODST suit and have a Mass Effect 2 suit thats on hold right now.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm a Brony and a Halo, and a Mass Effect fanatic. hate me, love, I don't care. Im happy with who I am and I don't plan to change anytime soon.
