EDIT:added my background story about him at the bottom of the description. It us in fact a basic story of my life, but it has been modified to to my liking.
I realized a few days ago that I have been part of the Brony fandom for nearly a year now and I had yet to create an OC...until now!!
This is in fact a pony version of me. I know Archangel isn't really much of a pony name but to me it has a meaning behind it. My middle name is Michael which is Hebrew for "God Like", "Warrior" and "Leader". It is also the name of a powerful angel described in the bible. One way he is described is with the term Archangel.
The Cutie mark really doesn't represent any talent of mine but qualities about me.
When I make something about me, I want to have a lot of meaning behind it. The shield of the cutie mark represents my protective nature. I'm always there to defend my friends and family no matter what comes my way. In times of stress and in situations where I need to defend myself, my friendly appearance and personality turns to one of determination; the will to do whatever it takes to overcome all challenges. The wings represent my love of flight. Hence that's why I'm a Pegasus. The double lightning bolts represent my speed. I'm quick on my feet (and through the air) and fast thinker. A quick problem solver.
The Brown fur is because I'm Mexican. The black and red mane is because I have black hair and red is one of favorite colors. Hence the red eyes as well. My hair when I was younger used to be kinda long, a little unruly, and I could sort of style it. not now though XD. I used to spike my hair all the time.
Back-story:
From birth his family was never on top, or in the middle class, but on the bottom. His family lived every day, paycheck to paycheck, usually on less; not knowing if the next day would bring poverty, homelessness and dismay. Living in an area that was continually judgmental and prejudice against his race didn’t make life much easier to say the least. As he grew up, life financially improved for his family, but it could not improve the daily onslaught of bullying and racist outbursts his peers spat at him. Constantly getting beat up, and kicked to the curb. In his late teens, enough was enough. After witnessing countless times, the tragic results other’s hatred and ruthlessness towards him and others could cause, he decided to do whatever it would take to defend himself and to always help those in need.
In his 20’s, a tragedy befell his family that nobody expected, infidelity. His father had cheated on his mother with another. Being one of integrity, he did not stand for such an atrocity and disowned his father as he watched what was left of his family spiral into depression and sadness with him not far behind.
He constantly questioned why life had been so cruel to him over the years. Why had it dealt him such a cruel hand? A hand that so often drives so many to bid farewell to this world. He questioned why he had never contemplated doing the same. Then he remembered he had promised to never let himself down and be overcome, and to be a light for those who find themselves lost to darkness from the ill will of others. He had learned to move past the hardships life brings and use those experiences to strength him as a person. He wanted to be a friendly face and show that someone will always be there to help.
